Position Accountability Statement

The Ideation and Design Product Lead is responsible for the definition and screening of new product concepts and product revamps. The role is also responsible in coming up with product designs that are aligned with the company’s overall vision and goals.

Specific Areas Of Accountability

  • Manages product development projects which involve new products and product redesign in accordance with MaxiGroup’s strategic plan
  • Provides analysis of current and up-to-date market trends, product opportunities and competitors’ product strategies to assist the product development team on decisions regarding product development strategy.
  • Conducts and designs market research projects/surveys to evaluate the feasibility and viability of new product ideas and to continuously understand the market and assess customer attitudes to the current product range and new product introductions.
  • Identifies and establishes arrangements for products considering the distribution channels, reinsurance support, partnerships, or promotional tie-up.
  • Keep abreast of Insurance Commission and other regulatory bodies pertaining to the products, and verify that such products can meet regulatory standards.
  • Collaborates with various teams across the organization including Actuarial, Operations, Transformation and Technology, Risk Management and other committees to ensure product strategies can be implemented.
  • Prepares and finalizes overall product design and strategy alignment.
  • Oversees the development of product contracts, forms and other documentary requirements for regulatory submissions and approval of the new products and enhancements.
  • Ensures overall compliance of the product with internal and external policies and regulations.
  • Compiles and safekeeps all product-related documentation and approvals.
  • Identifies best practices and tools for product development and project management.
  • Perform any other tasks that may be directed to do.

Desired Skills And Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge & experience in marketing management, product management, project management and/or quality management from an insurance, healthcare or retail company
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous leadership or management experience is an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills – able to openly discuss ideas and concerns to peers and managers
  • Can easily adapt and work in a fast paced culture and environment
  • Delivers outputs on schedule and manages to work well under pressure
  • Able to collaborate effectively with customers and/or colleagues outside own team structure
  • UX/UI experience is an advantage
  • Capable of using Design thinking principles and tools

Professional Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree holder in BS Business Administration, Management, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics and related courses
  • At least 5 years’ experience in insurance, healthcare or similar experience with key focus on product and project management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management tools
  • Data analytics skills are welcome as well as previous leadership experience
